The Ministry of Innovation and Employment (MBIE) has just released its 3rd annual construction pipeline report. It has plenty of good news for fire safety and fire protection engineers. The annual value of Commercial construction work that fire engineers typically get involved with is set to increase by 17% from 2013 to 2020.
The residential market which does not normally require a fire engineer’s involvement is also changing with a move from single to multi unit dwellings which do require fire engineering involvement. The residential market is indicated to have an annual increase of value of 22% from 2013 to 2020. With one third of all dwellings in 2017 being made up of multi unit dwellings.
