Wayne holds a bachelor’s degree in fire science and safety engineering from the South African Emergency Services Institute, as well as several specialist qualifications in fire technology, inspection and testing. He has been in the fire industry since 1996, working with Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services before moving to New Zealand in 2009.

Outside of work, Wayne enjoys spending time with his family. He plays football with his sons at the local club and helps to keep the club up and running. He’s also a big fan of New Zealand’s outdoor lifestyle and a dedicated follower of rugby and motor racing.
