Entering into his career as a consultant with Origin Fire, Tom brings with him passive fire installation experience in the form of site management, and as a main contractor. Over his years in the industry, he’s gained vast knowledge of passive fire products in the market and understands what is realistically achievable by contractors.

Tom was drawn to fire engineering to be involved in system design and help contractors to install
the most appropriate solutions, resulting in safer buildings for occupants. His favourite part of the
job is balancing creativity with compliance when resolving challenges on site for bespoke situations.
Tom says he’s looking forward to seeing projects through to completion, from designing the
specifications of passive fire systems for building consent documents to handover.

When he’s not monitoring projects or investigating defective fire protection reports, Tom enjoys
playing golf and watching rugby.
