Origin’s approach to passive fire protection is to design solutions up front at design stage and then carry out inspections in accordance with the design during construction.

This ensures a smooth consenting process and generates realistic pricing during tender stage. Downtime during construction due to designing and getting consent approval is virtually eliminated using this process.

Concept / Preliminary Design

At these stages we present the passive fire protection design philosophy for the other design consultants to work to. It is also the key time to design out as much passive fire as possible by smart location of services and before the other consultants’ designs are cast in stone.

Developed Design

At this stage of the design we are carrying out preliminary selections of passive fire protection systems based on the building construction materials and building services designs.

Detailed Design

We document the locations of passive fire penetrations, document our solutions and manufacturers’ installation requirements along with test report justifying the system selections and any engineering judgements.

Construction Monitoring

During construction we regularly monitor the construction and installation process against the approved fire protection compliance installation details.
